The places, the people, the personalities and the unpredictability that has defined the spirit of this movie since the start.


A month-long trip in South America. Conditions were inconsistent, the banks didn’t really cooperate, and just as the waves began improving, Craig snapped his ankle…A theme that has somewhat defined DEFECT as a project. 

This first episode runs for 20+ minutes and has been put together by Dane, with footage captured by friend of FORMER Jack Taylor.

We’ve pretty much gotten injured on every trip. Have got somewhat skunked. Faceplanted the reef. Broke my foot on the second day. Out of control but pulling it together at the same time. Constantly improvising….while at every moment riding waves that can truly damage you…which is a unique way of riding them.
